New Bluestone thermal patio and back steps in Lake Forest, IL
We love Bluestone 🔷 . There’s so many redeeming factors. For patios the list is long. For one, new Bluestone patios - like this one in Lake forest, IL (area code 60045) - is built to last. Bluestone can easily last decades, or more. It’s strong and durable. It’s naturally very difficult to break. Additionally, it can be wet without being slippery. Which makes it an exceptional material for patios, walkways, steps, etc. Bluestone is not too expensive either. And it comes in a variety of color, such as blues, grays, oranges, browns, and even purples.
For this project, we went with a Thermal Bluestone. This type is non-slip due to the textured surface. This makes it optimal for a location such as a back patio. Full dimensional Bluestone / slate. To add to the space, we installed new entryway Bluestone steps, mortared in with weeping cords to pull water from the concrete. Notice the simplicity and elegance of this rear patio space. Designed nicely, and executed according to plan and budget. On time and on budget is paramount.
